Whats Going On
My name is Jack Hirsh and I am a graduate of Pennsylvania State University, from Villanova, Pennsylvania, with degrees in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science with a minor in Middle Eastern Studies.
Currently, I am a Multimedia Journalist for KTVZ - NewsChannel 21 in Bend, Oregon.
I have always had a passion for golf, playing competitively throughout my life and often traveling to famous courses with my dad who is in the golf business. I was captain of my high school varsity team.
I am also an avid fan of baseball, football and basketball with my favorite professional teams being the New York Yankees, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Philadelphia 76ers. I also enjoy smaller sports such as college volleyball and other olympic sports. It is my goal to attend one event of every division one team at Penn State in my time.
Journalism and story telling has been my way to turn my love for sports into a future career. I strive to tell stories of the people off the field, not just the numbers and play-by-play. Sports feature some of the most interesting people and each one of them is unique and I enjoy learning about them and what makes them great or different from others.
I am also interested in both American and Middle-eastern politics and I keep a close eye regarding the various political situations.
My other interests include playing guitar, sport climbing and ultimate frisbee.
